27 Jan 2018 - Rockin' the Rockefeller (CKB)

School work came in, so even though it's the weekend here, we put in an hour or so this morning.  It's so interesting to note the differences between the current curriculum (the way the guys are used to doing things in school) and the old (the independent study).
Burned out on school work and teetering on the edge of brother-hassling-parent-annoying (are you noticing a theme?), we headed to the Rockefeller Museum.  The national archaeology museum before the Israel Museum came along, the Rockefeller is housed in a beautiful old stone building about a 10 minute walk away from us.  Just to up the ante, there's an exhibition on Ashkelon (the site where Aaron and I met).  We checked out the dog burials, a calf shrine, and - I think - an earring my brother found.
Here's the quick story - Fritz came to Ashkelon to excavate one summer.  Being in high school, and being Fritz, he didn't really wake up until after 10 am (in spite of our 5 am work start time), so his supervisor very kindly had him digging a small pit, so he could slowly join the land of the living.  One day (before 10 am even, I believe), he wandered over to his supervisor with a GOLD EARRING in his hand and said, "Um.  Is this something?"
Fritz, your earring is still gorgeous.
